The file was created in Carbide Create and is setup to run on the Shapeoko XXL. I cut these out of 1X12 pine 21" long, purchased at local lumber yard that measures .71" thick.
The .C2D file includes the tool paths which are cut with #301 90 degree V bit. I like to make these in a few steps.
1.) Measure in seven inches from each end and apply painters tape. Then I either white wash or paint the center prior to cutting.
2.) Cut the coat of arms which should be centered in the piece. I then decide whether or not I would like to wood burn the carving. On pieces with lighter grain it helps it stand out.
3.) Last I stain the green and red portions and apply a poly finish.
With a little adjusting these can also easily be scaled to make a larger or even smaller version.
Included is the .c2d file ready to be opened in Carbide Create. I will also include the .nc files ready to be used in Carbide Motion with the steps listed above and an .svg copy if you would like to recreate in a different size.
